BODAWERK International Ltd. is a Ugandan social enterprise, developing cutting-edge solutions in the field of Lithium-Ion batteries. We develop electronics, battery designs & battery powered applications with a focus on embedded systems / high power electronics and their IoT-integration.

The Role:

The individual will be responsible for leading the strategic marketing plans to position and promote Bodawerk’ s energy solutions across the continent.


  • Develop marketing implementation strategies and carry-out marketing initiatives to support rapid sales growth;
  • Generating upfront sales through client commitments and down payments to facilitate continuous offtake of products and services;
  • Serve as marketing first-point-of-contact for all renewables & cleantech team members. Help build compelling and specific value propositions, offers, and messaging for a business in growth mode, understand customer, sales, and delivery needs and requirements to position current and future offers to address team and customer pain points. Create effective, compelling tools and assets for use by stakeholders;
  • Lead creative efforts such as writing, designing, managing and updating marketing collateral including producing articles, presentations, datasheets, press releases, newsletters, website, etc. and organize distribution of the same;
  • Develop new advertising material and execute campaigns and plans. Manage relationships across all company departments to ensure seamless and consistent branding, marketing messaging and communications from a corporate marketing perspective;
  • Plan, organize and execute company participation in and marketing strategy for industry trade shows, conferences, and events;
  • Create social media communication strategy and implement actions to increase brand awareness and support overarching marketing campaigns and objectives through social media platforms;
  • Engage in market research and analytics to capture industry trends, project pipeline, potential leads, and direct competitor analysis and apply intel to marketing strategies;
  • Maintain marketing collateral, branded merchandising, advertising and media files;
  • Create digital marketing strategies, including email blasts, website updates, email signature messaging, social media and advertisements to enact real-time campaigns;

The ideal candidate should have these desired competencies;

  • 3 – 5 years proven working experience in digital product marketing;
  • Demonstrated ability to drive digital campaign and asset development and creation, including go-to-market strategies, synthesis of complex topics, creation of compelling value propositions and sales/communication tools. Writing, design work, and presentation samples must be provided;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) with advanced skill in PowerPoint;
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience working with and influencing a wide range of corporate stakeholders;
  • Personal qualities such as initiative, ownership, accountability, drive/passion, perseverance, persuasion, cooperation, relationship building, attention to detail and timelines, reliability, intellectual and emotional intelligence, innovative thinking/problem solving, and curiosity;
  • Creativity, technically savvy, excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work both independently and within teams and under time constraints;
  • Good organizational skills, quick learner, interested in learning new skills;
  • Being the team player who brings everyone from across the business together to get the job done;
  • Ability to build strong partnerships with the relevant stakeholders involved;
  • Ability to learn new initiatives to improve their work productivity;
  • Strong leadership qualities, resourcefulness and demonstrated a high level of initiative;
