As the Senior Procurement Officer your primary responsibility will involve procuring goods, materials, and commodities to fulfill production operational requirements. This entails considering factors such as price, quality, delivery times, supplier penalties, and ensuring uninterrupted supply.
1. Strategic Procurement Management
● Oversee the allocation of resources and activities essential for executing high-value purchase transactions. This includes sourcing, planning, and expediting purchase orders to support production schedules and fulfill spare parts orders efficiently.
2. Cross-Functional Liaison.
● Act as the primary liaison between production, suppliers, quality assurance, finance, and warehouse teams, ensuring seamless coordination for high-value transactions involving capital and flow parts.
3. Purchase Order Processing.
● Process purchase orders for capital and flow parts, considering supply and demand dynamics, customer requirements, engineering inputs, and system signals such as build plans.
● Manage short-cycle demands, customer emergencies, and expedite past-due or urgent demands as needed
4. Issue Resolution
● Evaluate and drive resolution for material quality, pricing discrepancies, supply shortages, delivery delays, and invoice discrepancies to minimize disruptions in operations.
5. Supply Chain Support:
● Monitor market trends, competitor strategies, and supplier performance.
● Provide analysis on costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, negotiate contracts, and improve pricing and terms of business with suppliers using procurement best practices.
6. Supplier Relationship Management:
● Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships, fostering open communication and ensuring a professional and consistent approach in all interactions. Conduct performance reviews to ensure supplier compliance with
The Ideal Candidate:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management and a Certificate in CIPS
● 3-5 years experience in the motor vehicle or manufacturing industry.
● Excellent knowledge of the procurement processes.
● Ability to assess contract compliance and product/service quality.
● Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
